Actual Sugar Content of Your Favorite Drinks

I saw the picture below days ago in Facebook. That was apparently a school project of kids showing how much sugar your favorite drink has. It is shocking to know that my favorite drink actually has 11 teaspoon of sugar. I cannot imagine disolving that much sugar in water and drink it in one sitting. That's crazy!

Actual Sugar Content of Your Favorite Drinks

I have to say that these companies have great marketing talent. They make it a point to make the packaging nice and most especially attractive to kids. Even the packaging looks innocent and healthy, it doesn't mean it is a good product.

Anyway, I will enumerate the sugar content of each product in the photo above. Make sure to read again for you to grasp the large quantity of sugar we are taking in.

Water - 0 teaspoon
Milk (250 ml) - 3 teaspoon
Dole Sparklers (355 ml) - 4 teaspoon
Apple Juice (200 ml) - 6 teaspoon
Chocolate Milk (250 ml) - 7 teaspoon
Nestea Iced Tea (500 ml) - 11 teaspoon
Coca Cola (355 ml) - 11 teaspoon
Crush Grape (355 ml) - 12 teaspoon
Five Alive (450 ml) - 13 teaspoon
Coca Cola (591 ml) - 18 teaspoon
Super Big Gulp (44 oz) - 32 teaspoon

The verdict, we should stick to basic water. Not only it is the healthiest choice but is the best option to quench our thirst.

ganon? so water would be the best option? hehehe... that's a good presentation that can open the eyes of many who can't live without SODA!

I am not fond of drinking soda. Water with ice is what I like to drink. Water also serves as a cleanser in our body and helps good digestion.

I prefer drinking water myself but once in a while I crave for something that has flavor, hence the alternative drink, juice or soda.

They have too much sugar in each drinks. Water is still the best, specially for diabetics.

I also saw this photo on facebook and it's really a great way to show people the sugar they are consuming.
