Singapore New Coins
Do you like this story?
Posted on Thursday, February 21, 2013 The Monetary Authority of Singapore or MAS has just released the new set of Singapore that will be in circulation mid-2013.
The new coins are noticeably with larger denomination numerals and additional electro-magnetic signature feature. Aside from the security features, the new coins will feature Singapore iconic landmarks like the Merlion, Port of Singapore, Changi Airport, HDB Housing, and the Esplanade.
To those who have lots of coins, MAS has reiterated that the current coins will still be valid and will not be demonitised.
What do you think of the new coins? Am I correct that the 50 centavos are smaller now?

oh, if Singapore has new coins, Canada has bid adieu to its penny that has circulated for 150 years. we bid goodbye to the penny last feb 4. but they are still around though. it will take a while for it to be totally out of the business world. i love to collect coins, i wish i could get one of those new coins you have.

So many different coins. We only have 4 right now: quarters, dime, nickels and pennies, so it's easier for the kids. US used to have half a dollar and a dollar coin, but I don't know what happened, I don't see them around but it is still acceptable.
