I just saw in the evening news that in California Foie Gras has been banned. To those who are unfamiliar with the topic like me, foie gras is actually fatty liver in English. The poor ducks were actually force fed to increase the size of their liver. Before the ducks die of liver disease, their livers were salvaged for those foie gras lovers out there. The video below is very graphic!
I hope for those of you who eats foie gras see this video. Foie Gras is a disease and not a delicacy!

So how's my Sundown Marathon experience? Let me give you the rundown of the good and bad points.
Good Points
1) The venue being moved to Nicoll Highway was a good thing for me, it's more convenient because of Circle Line.
2) Distance markers were visible.
3) Cheerers near the finishing line. Even it was raining hard, I saw a lot of people cheering for us. It was indeed a great motivation to finish.
4) Food, food, and free food! I was surprised to see that they have free popcorn and cotton candy. Since both of them are sweet, I opted not to avail it. Luckily, after my run, the prices of other food went down from $5 to $3. I had the boneless chicken with cheese.

The mother of reality show, Survivor is in its 25th season. What's great about season 25 is the venue. It was held in the Philippines particularly in the islands of Caramoan, Camarines Sur. Three former castaways that were evacuated due to medical reasons will be back in season 25. Hopefully, Colton will not be included in Season 25.
Watch the preview below of Survivor Philippines coming this fall.

This move by the embassy is to help limit the volume of people visiting the embassy. The Philippine Embassy usually during Sunday is very crowded as this is the only free day Filipinos can visit the embassy.

This is the latest talk of the town here in Singapore. On Saturday, a Ferrari car hit a Hyundai Sonata taxi killing both driver and passenger. It also hit a motorcyclist which sustained injuries to his spine.
The Ferrari driver in question is Ma Chi, a 31-year old businessman from China. He died on the spot with reports that his head was almost cut off from the high impact of the incident. Ma Chi was with an unknown girl which remains in the hospital. Reports are saying that she works in a KTV bar.
Rest in peace to the taxi driver Cheng Teck Hock and to the Japanese female passenger.

Jollibee currently has 79 stores around the world including the US, Vietnam, Brunei, Jeddah, Hong Kong, Qatar, Kuwait.
This is such a great news for Filipinos like me working here in Singapore. We will finally have a new makan place aside from Lucky Plaza and some Filipino stalls in hawkers. I just hope Singaporeans and foreigners will be able to adapt to the sweet Filipino style spaghetti and the fried chicken with rice.

Arroz Caldo or rice porridge with chicken is popular in the Philippines specially during breakfast, snacks and if I may add during rainy seasons. If you're an OFW like me and have been craving of Arroz Caldo, here are the ingredients and easy steps.
Ingredients of Arroz Caldo ala Makoy:
1) a cup of glutinous rice or regular fragrant rice
2) boiled chicken strips or chicken parts
3) crushed garlic
4) cooking oil
5) 2 chicken cubes
6) salt and pepper
7) ginger cut in 1-inch strip
8) water
9) hard-boiled eggs
10) chopped onion leaks
11) fish sauce
For the simple steps:
1) In a casserole, sautée the crushed garlic in a hot cooking oil followed by the ginger.
2) If the ginger is already fragrant, add in the chicken. Once the chicken looks half-cooked, pour in the rice and the water. Make sure to occasionally mix the soup base.
3) Add the chicken cubes in the soup base then flavor it with fish sauce, salt and pepper.
4) Once the chicken is cooked, you can mix in the hard-boiled egg.
Best served with sautéed garlic and chopped onion leaks.

This is so far my favorite epic rap off from the Morning Rush. Featuring the longest singing line of Delamar!
D:Hey, it will be very hot one
huhuhuhuhu
If you stay at home or go out of town
Tell me where you'll go
I wanna go to the beach with you
I'll go anywhere with you at once
At once
G:Hey it's summer time
Together let's get wild
And let's not bother
Let's go crazy out of town
And let's not frown We want yah down
We'll hit the beach
You scratch that itch
And you don't need to be that bitch
We're gonna get loose
And that ka-booze
And drink great booze
And all that booze And go, uhuhuhu
Oh no I'm allergic to this Henna
Go Achuhuhu
Got a Spartan body for this summer
Go Awuhuhuhu
Hey, drink some more,
Leave inhibitions at the door
Time to party even more
Turn up the music just a bit more
D:Hey, it will be very hot one
huhuhuhuhu
If you stay at home or go out of town
Tell me where you'll go
I wanna go to the beach with you
I'll go anywhere with you at once
At once

Last week, I finally have watched The Avengers with my friends at Cathay Cineplex at JB Malaysia. JB Malaysia is a popular destination to Singaporeans since it is just a bus away and the prices are usually half the price.
Booking the movie tickets in advance had some problems. The online booking keeps on throwing me error after I key in my credit card OTP. Thankfully, a day before the movie, I was able to book it. For three tickets, it only cost me less than $16. If you watch here in Singapore during weekends or public holiday, it would cost us more than S$30.
Anyway, I just noticed that Malaysians prefer not to buy online since a day before the movie, not even ten seats were booked.
Traveling to JB was a breeze. We took the express bus at Queen Street, Bugis. You can pay by cash or even by EZlink. For less than 30 minutes, we reached JB. It's just a bummer that City Square is under renovation and one of the reasons were there was Kenny Rogers. We headed first to the cinema to get our tickets. It was Labor Day so the cinema was crowded. I queued at the online booking counter and I was so furious that people that didn't book online was queuing. What's the point of booking online if I have to wait for 30 minutes.
