After the second try, I finally perfected the art of making hot cakes. I still can recall when my siblings and I were still young, our dad would cook for us hot cakes. And he even taught us how to cook it without the ready mix.
Since I relied all the time with hot cake mix and the it's very pricey here, I have opted to cook it on the scratch. I had to search online for the ingredients but I failed the first time.
Anyway, here are the ingredients of my hot cake:
1. A cup of an all-purpose flour
2. An egg
3. Cooking oil or melted butter
4. 3 teaspoons of baking powder
5. 1 teaspoon of salt
6. 1 tablespoon of sugar
7. Drops of vanilla extract
8. Cup of fresh milk
Here are simple steps:
1. Mix all dry ingredients in a separate bowl then set aside.
2. In a separate bowl, mix all the wet ingredients then pour bit by bit while mixing to the dry ingredients. Once the hot cake mix is smooth in texture, you can fry it an greased pan.
3. Serve hot with butter and some fruit jams.

Good news to my fellow Jurong East colleagues! The JCUBE mall which replaced the Jurong Entertainment Centre will finally open on April 2nd. The mall is owned by CapitaMall Trust and will have a total of five levels including Singapore's first Olympic-size ice rink.
The mall has a lettable area of 210,000 sq. ft. and according to CapitaMall Trust, 90% of its area has been leased.
Good news for us which is just walking distance from JTC. More food choices, yehey!
Anyway, my colleagues and I were talking about this mall during its pre-conception. We said that when this mall finally finished, we will be working in a different company. Surprisingly, we're still here.

The Philippines became a creditor in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2010 with its high foreign exchange reserves of $63.4 billion reversing its membership from borrower to country-creditor. The Philippines as well has prepaid all of its outstanding debt to the IMF ending its 45 years of lending history.
By the end of 2011, the Philippines has infused a total of $251.1 million to the IMF. The BSP has added that the half of the amount made by the Philippines went to European countries like Ireland, Portugal and Greece.
With these much reserves, the HSBC prediction might come true.

The set was eye catchy and of course the songs from the musical are awesome. Some of which I have heard from Glee and Lea Salonga. There were parts of the musical that are boring that in total, it was a great show. I was impressed with the characters Galinda and Elphaba. They can really hit the high notes even they are suspended up high.
I just realized that it's been a long time since my last musical, which was Chicago in May 2010. Hopefully for 2012 I will have the opportunity to watch more musicals. Phantom of the Opera please!

It was a sad Monday in the Philippines when earthquake struck the central island including Cebu and the Negros Island. My friend even from Iloilo experienced the earthquake while riding jeepney. The earthquake was recorded to be of 6.9 magnitude and has taken 13 lives and 40 are still missing.
The earthquake hit around 11:49 AM which triggered landslide in the mountain village of Solongon, La Libertad, Negros Occidental. Rescuers and some foreign and local doctors are in the vicinity but the aid could not be delivered because of damaged roads and bridges. According to reports, a total of nine bridges were damaged in Negros Occidental and four were not passable.
Tsunami alert has been sent as well yesterday for the central islands. Huge waves washed out cottages from a beach resort in La Libertad but no injuries were reported. After shocks were also reported, three from the last time I read it in Facebook.
In 1948, Negros was hit by a 8.2 magnitude earthquake but did not cause massive damage.
For those who wants to extend their donations, please visit the Philippine Red Cross.
