Benefits of Water Fasting
It's been a while since my last post here. Anyway, the fasting month for Muslim has just started over the weekend. I took this opportunity to try it out from Saturday to Sunday. I was apprehensive to try it out because I know myself very well. I get cranky and I can't function well when I'm hungry.

After my research, it gave me the push to try it out for the many health benefits. Not only it will help you with detoxification, it will also help you with weight loss.

Anyway, here are some of the benefits of fasting:
1) cleansing of internal organs
2) anti-aging
3) better sleep
4) clearer skin
5) more energy
6) improved digestion
7) clarity of mind

Did you know that when we eat, 65% of our energy are directed to the digestive organs. During fasting, this energy will be diverted in repairing cells, tissues and organs.

Here is one video that I got in YouTube that can explain what happens internally during fasting.

If you're interested in fasting, you can follow how the Muslims do it. They will have their first meal of the day before sunset. You can hydrate yourself with water or fruit juices during your fast. You can break your fast by 6PM or 7PM. I suggest that you don't eat heavily.

So what did I gain during my two days fasting? I noticed that my tummy is a bit smaller and I don't feel bloated after a meal. I still have a long way to go before I can feel the other benefits. So fasting might be a once a week habit for me from now on.

I think even if we don't have significant weight loss having a not bloated feeling is worth the fasting.

actually it's been proven in the bible. That a person can safely survive without food only water, or just none. .JESUS CHRIST did it as human like us. .

Sounds really interesting and I want to try this. I am just worried about my mood which is unbecoming during hungry times :)

Christeen, don't worry about the mood swing. You'll be surprised that you'll feel calm and at peace.

Muslims do it for a longer period during Ramadan. It can also help us spiritually.

Everyone of us has own faith and beliefs but when it comes to sacrifices like fasting... may it be food or water, it's our choice, our decision.

BTW, never thought that water fasting has health benefits until this post.

I'm not sure if this will work for me. I'm still comfortable to having frequent small meals per day.
