Three days to go and I'll be running 10 kilometers for the NTUC Healthcare U Run 2011. That I am so excited about! I have to at least break my 1:23:20 from my Nike 10 KM SG vs KL.
Anyway, I have signed up for a run in April for NTUC again. The run on April is called Run 350, which aims to unite the world to build solutions against climate crisis. The figure 350 is actually from Dr. James Hansen of NASA. According to his paper, 350 is the level of carbon in the atmosphere that is on the safe zone. Current estimates now are between 387 and 390 PPM. Isn't that alarming? With the help of this run, it can raise awareness and maybe help us shift in doing "Green" initiatives.
Run 350 is scheduled on April 17, 2011 at The Promontory@Marina Bay. Kids ages 4-9 can also join for the 350 meters non-competitive category. This video was posted during Valentine's Day and was taken at Somerset MRT by many onlookers. Apparently, the guy was caught by her girlfriend with another girl while queuing at the Ez-Link Top Machine of the MRT station. Watch the video below especially the part when the girl threw a plastic bottle at her boyfriend. Funny!
September 2009, I started going to the gym and there was no turning back to that. The next year after that I have been running seriously even joining mini runs. There were ups and some downs. I can never forget the time that my knees ached because of running and just recently my arch from my right foot ached. And how can I forget the huge hematoma from my right knee.
Anyway, September 2010 in preparation for my Nike 10km Run I bought the Nike+ Running kit and with that I was able to track my run. It's just amazing that Nike+ had this Rundown for the year 2010. Just to summarize, I run a total of 190 kilometers for the year 2010 with a total of 12,178 calories burned. Wowza!
And my run tonight marked my 250 kilometers run using my Nike+. I'm now on a Green Level. 750 kilometers more and I'll be on a Blue Level. How many runs would that be? Continue reading this article...
It took me a while in posting these pictures. Actually, I forgot about it. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy these photos. At the Janet Jackson Live in Singapore Concert, it made me realize that I need a new camera with higher optical zoom.
Radio show "This American Life" thinks that they have found the secret formula of Coca Cola. According to This American Life host Ira Glass, the formula was created by pharmacist John Pemberton in 1886 and they call the formula "Merchandise 7X."
The show's staff found the February 8, 1979 edition of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. That edition contained the article from the leather-bound notebook that belonged to the best friend of Pemberton. The notebook contains recipes and also the exact recipe of Coke.
Anyway, here are the ingredients from that notebook. You can try and let me know if it works.
Fluid extract of Coca: 3 drams USP
Citric acid: 3 oz
Caffeine: 1 oz
Sugar: 30 (unclear quantity)
Water: 2.5 gal
Lime juice: 2 pints, 1 quart
Vanilla: 1 oz
Caramel: 1.5 oz or more for color
The secret 7X flavor (use 2 oz of flavor to 5 gals syrup):
Alcohol: 8 oz
Orange oil: 20 drops
Lemon oil: 30 drops
Nutmeg oil: 10 drops
Coriander: 5 drops
Neroli: 10 drops
Cinnamon: 10 drops

One of my new year's resolution is to finish reading the Holy Bible. My best friend gave me the bible as a birthday present last year and until now I haven't touched it. Anyway, since there are many applications available in iPhone, I searched if there are any free Bible applications.
It has been 50 days now and I have been reading the Holy Bible Free iPhone application. It's just amazing that each day I get to read chapters from the Old Testament and the New Testament. Hopefully for 365 days, I can finish it.
Anyway, aside from the Daily Reading, you can also read per chapters of the Old and New Testament, save your favorite verses and read random verses. Major Bible versions are also available like ASV, BBE, DBY, DRC, KJV, WEBS, WEB and YLT. I'm currently reading the World English Bible.

Yesterday was one of the highlights of the month for me. I was able to watch Janet Jackson Live in Concert and I absolutely loved it. Anyway, here are some of the details of the Janet Jackson Concert in Singapore.
After work, I rushed myself to City Hall MRT where I met my friend for dinner. We had our dinner at Burger King and after our quick bite we parted ways. Thank God there is a new shortcut from Raffles Mall to Esplanade MRT. From Esplanade MRT, I alighted at Stadium MRT. I arrived the Singapore Indoor Stadium by 7:30 P.M. It's just awful that they didn't allow us to get in even the concert was scheduled at 8 P.M. While waiting for the for the opening of the doors, I bought some soda and some chips.
When I got in, I immediately found my seat. It's just a bummer that when I sat, I was the only person in the row. After an hour of waiting, the concert started with Janet Jackson on her tight metallic/futuristic outfit. She performed the songs "Pleasure Principle", "Control", "What Have You Done for Me Lately" and "Feedback" for her opening medley.
For the second set, she performed her famous ballads "Let’s Wait A While" and "Again" on her pink dress. After we were sunken to the slow songs, she came out with hits like "Nasty", "That's The Way Love Goes", "All For You" and "Escapade" on her hip outfit.
For the final set, Janet wore this all white outfit and performed a medley of "Black Cat", "Scream" and "Rhythm Nation". Janet closed the show with the songs "Make Me" and "Together Again."
I enjoyed the concert a lot and I was singing and dancing at the same time. The audience was awesome as well. I didn't expect that Singapore can get wild! The audience were all dancing and singing. There were even a few people dancing even the concert hasn't started yet. I just don't like the one hour delay. If it says 8 P.M. then it should start by 8!
Anyway at 44, Janet Jackson still has it. Who can sing and dance like that at that age? I'll close this experience with one word, "Awesome!"Continue reading this article...
Janet Jackson will start her Number Ones Up Close and Personal 2011 World Tour here in Singapore tomorrow. I am very happy that I can watch her Live but not that up close. It was only last week that I bought my ticket since I was anxious to watch since nobody wants to watch with me.
Anyway, this World Tour is about her Number Ones collection and according to Janet herself would be a different concert. It would be intimate and very personal. The concert here in Singapore would be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium at 8 P.M. The concert would run approximately for 3 hours. For the fans, we can expect her to sing 35 of her Number One songs including "Let’s Wait Awhile," "Miss You Much," "Escapade," "Runaway," and "Doesn’t Really Matter."
