We have been familiar with the 1978 Grease movie starred by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John but some of us did not know that it was actually based from a 1972 musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey. Grease the Musical remains Broadway's twelfth longest-running show.

Grease based its titled from the 1950's United States working-class youth subculture known as the "greasers".   It tackled issues like gang violence, teenage pregnancy, teenage rebellion, sexual exploration and also love and friendship.

Some of the famous songs from Grease are "Summer Nights", "Those Magic Changes", "We Go Together" and "Born To Hand Jive."

Since its more than 30 years of production, it has received numerous Tony Awards nonimations, Drama Desk Awards and Theatre World Awards.
