My Google, Yahoo and Facebook Accounts Were Hacked

Transcript of President Arroyo’s State of Nation Address, July 27, 2009Last Saturday afternoon, I was about to swim when I received a new email notification from my Yahoo Messenger. The notification informed me that someone had changed my password. I immediately checked my Yahoo Mail to verify but sadly my password did not work. I already closed my Yahoo Messenger by the way. Aside from my Yahoo! Mail, I also checked my other email account which is Gmail. The same thing also happened. My password was prompted incorrect. I tried to reset my password for both email accounts but I really had a hard time with Google. It is not automatic that after you answer some questions, you can change your password. After you have answered some questions, they will investigate first on what happened. If they have confirmed that it is really you then you can change your password.

For my Yahoo account, Thank God it was easy. I'm not sure though that with that easy method of changing password is well-secured. Even though Google gave me a bad headache, I know it was more secured.

Anyway, after I have submitted the form to Google, I gave up waiting and went on to my swimming schedule. When I returned home, I received a link from them to change my password. By the way, aside from my Google and Yahoo accounts, my Facebook account was also hacked. It was really a fault of mine to use the same password for most of my accounts. Better change your password frequently and make it harder for those hackers to crack your passwords.
