Broadway Overload Billy ElliotAs you all know I am a music lover and my passion for music has expanded in the likes of Broadway shows, thanks to our very own Lea Salonga. My first Broadway show that I watched was “Miss Saigon” when it started showing in the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2000. “Les Miserables”, “Cinderella” and “CATS” soon followed and I hope that those weren’t my last. The Broadway experience was on a different level—even magical on some parts. Indeed an experience one shouldn’t miss.

Broadway has been giving us the best entertainment in the world since the 18th century in Broadway, New York and West End Theatre in London. According to The Broadway League, just for the 2007-2008 season, Broadway shows approximately sold $937 million of tickets. That includes the latest top shows like Billy Elliot, Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia!, Oliver, The Lion King, We Will Rock You, Wicked, Grease, Love Never Dies, Blood Brothers and so much more.

Starting Thursday next week, I will feature one of the top Broadway show in my Broadway segment. That would be interesting to know about these spectacular shows. Maybe in the near future I can have my well-deserved west end theatre breaks. I can’t wait to watch Billy Elliot, The Lion Kind and Mamma Mia since I have watched them on the silver screen. Exciting indeed!
