Back in Singapore

NAIA AirportMy 10 days vacation in the Philippines is over. It was a tiring and a happy vacation. Not only I had time to shop but I also spent quality time with my loved ones and friends. 10 days is quite short maybe on my next long vacation it would be more than 10 days. Anyway, I'm planning to have my next vacation this April 18 for my niece's 1st birthday. I love my niece! We have a bonding time when she bites on my nose and she would leave lots of saliva on my nose. Hehe.

Anyway on my Manila-Singapore flight, I boarded in JetStar in NAIA Terminal 1. I'm from Paranaque and it only took me 15 minutes to arrive in the airport. I even had a mistake on entering the OFW entrance since I heard from a friend that there's a special entrance for OFW. When I went inside the right entrance, I asked for the weighing scale since I was worried that my luggage would exceed the limit. Thank God it did not exceed. After that, I went to check in and went on the usual procedure. I requested by the way for a window seat but this time I was seated on the center seat. I'm thankful that my lady seatmate on the left didn't have a habit of using the toilet.

The flight from Manila to Singapore was timed to 3 hours and 5 minutes. Minutes before we landed, I suffered severe pain from my right ear. Minutes after, both of my ears are hurting. It felt like it's going to explode. I sometimes check if there's blood flowing on my ears. There is none by the way. My friend told me this technique to swallow your saliva if you feel that your eardrums are going to pop. This time this technique did not work. This is my fifth time to ride an airplane and I had this traumatic experience. As of the moment, I feel deaf.

More stories tomorrow. I already have work tomorrow.

I dunno if it would be effective with you... I travelled for more than 20 hours by pain but the that was with a stop.. That means the longest was around 16 hours maybe... that was when I fly from NAIA to Italy. What I did? The first time I took the plane was from Iloilo to Manila and I got a bit deaf for that mere 60 minute flight! I was advised to blow my nose hard but pinch it while blowing... I feel the pressure come out of my ears.. From then on, this technique was effective.. even my longer flights... I travelled around 3 hours too when I went to KL... the same technique... so I think its just the release of compiled pressure in the air and blowing it help... I also try to partly open my mouth when the pain takes off to have a bit of outlet from pressure... long advise, huh?

16th Big Mak point for WebbieLady.

yes blowing your nose while pinching it will do the trick, this will make the air pop through your ears. this is the same technique for divers as well. also do some swallowing from time to time. or you can also try chewing a gum during the flight.
