It was last Tuesday when my recruitment agent came to visit me. She asked me about my work and if there are problems that I can open to her. I was having a terrible back pain that time so that was most of our converstaion.
The other week, we had an argument regarding the reimbursement of my employment medical exam. I think the issue was already resolved in their part since she did not mention that topic.
Anyway, our conversation was just quick, I think it was less than five minutes. But, before we parted she told me that my job confirmation is in the works already. Thank God! I just have to wait another three months for my contract renewal. I hope with the current economic crisis, my employment status won't be affected.
With this confirmation, I plan to take a one day vacation leave maybe next month. Yahoo!
And oh, Happy Halloween!

Here is Mariah Carey's new music video for I Stay In Love from her platinum album, "E=MC2." The said music video was directed by Mariah Carey's husband Nick Cannon. I was quite disappointed with the video. I just hope this new single will top the charts after the not so great sales of "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time."

Today is the celebration of Deepavali here in Singapore. Deepavali is the Hindus version of our Christmas. Because of that, it is also a holiday here in Singapore. Isn't it nice that my weekend has been extended to one more day? What is just frustrating is that when I woke up this morning I have this terrible pain in my right shoulder. It was bearable but every time I move there's this pain that won't leave me.
After we had our lunch, I took my bath. While I was shampooing my hair, the unexpected or the excruciating pain on my right shoulder worsen. The pain even extended on my right back. I had a hard time taking a bath and was just focusing on finishing it. I'm just worried that I would have a hard time tomorrow on my way to the office.
After that long bath, I went to my bed and watched the movie Sex and the City. I was stuck on one position coz when I shifted on the other side, the pain strikes. After watching the movie, I had the hardest time to get up. I just hope when I wake up tomorrow, my back pain would be gone. I'm thinking of taking my sick leave tomorrow, but won't it be coincidental that I would use my sick leave after my probationary period?
Pain, pain go away!

I mentioned in my birthday post that I went to Church Of St. Mary Of The Angels. The church was nice and it has this architectural design that will make you visit this church often. Anyway, here are the pictures that I took. What can you say about this church? Haven't I mentioned that they even have their own website? Cool huh!

I have been hearing this new song of Beyonce titled, "If I Were A Boy." The melody and
lyrics are nice and the song has definitely has a soul. What you didn't know is that this song wasn't a song for Beyonce. This song was actually written and recorded by an up and coming singer "BC Jean" (born Britney Carlson). After BC Jean's record deal did not push through, her manager sold the song to Beyonce Knowles without BC Jean's permission.
There are articles form different blogs saying that Beyonce are fishing for the writing credits for this song and her other songs. Just like what happened in her hit track, "Irreplaceable." Beyonce's camp said that Beyonce wrote Irreplaceable when in fact it was Ne-Yo who wrote it.
Anyway, I read that the conflict between BC Jean and Beyonce are all settled now after BC Jean filed a complaint. Sources say that BC Jean and Beyonce had agreed to have a duet on BC Jean's debut album.
Listen to the original version of If I were A Boy by BC Jean.

Finally, my birthday is over and I don't have to think about it. Yesterday, I was at work until 6:50 P.M. coz my supervisor has a deadline and I need to finish it. After that, I went to church in Bukit Batok courtesy of my friend Jhing. Jhing was right when she told me that it doesn't look like a church. It looks like an artwork than a church. Anyway, I will post here tonight the pictures from Church of St. Mary of the Angels. I haven't transfered the pictures yet from my mobile to my laptop since I was preoccupied with my late night watching of Desperate Housewives and Little Britain USA.
Anyway, after I said my prayers at Church of St. Mary of the Angels, I went back to the Bukit Batok terminal to have my birthday dinner. I have decided to just eat in McDonald's since it is the cheapest and safest place to eat. I had the usual Double Cheeseburger meal, upsize hehe. While I was having my dinner there, I called home since according to my sister, my mom wants to talk to me. Wow, they misses me. On my first try, no one was answering then I received a SMS message from my sister asking if it was me. According to her, her mobile was on silent mode. I called back then had a chat with my sister and my mother. The call lasted for almost 6 minutes then I went to finish my french fries.
After dining at McDonald's, I have decided to go home and rest. I was trying desperately to avoid the people in our house since they will harass me to treat them. When I was on my way to the MRT, I saw this tent with some sale stuffs which is just beside the mall. I went to check it out and have decided to check out the mall as well. The mall is nice and it even has a cinema. I even saw a Value Dollar store, which has a closing sale so I went to buy some toothpaste, razor and scissors. I will go back again to that mall and would watch a movie next time.
I went home after that mall visit. I was surprised that when I arrived home, my housemates are all gathered in the living room. They were singing the birthday song when I entered the front door. I just smiled at them and went to my room to take a bath. After taking a bath, I went to my bed and watched Desperate Housewives and Little Britain USA.
My birthday wasn't that sad after all.

I have read this article in a magazine when we visited Malaysia a month ago. Anyway,
according to the article the Tilapia fish, which I love to eat, is bad for the heart. A new study by Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center (Chilton et al, 2008) suggests that eating a Tilapia fish is worse than eating a bacon or a hamburger.
This is because a Tilapia fish has high level of Omega 6 fatty acids and arachidonic acid. Tilapia are raised on fish farms. They were fed with a corn-based feeds that contain the above mentioned substance. The tilapia fish stores the Omega 6 fatty acids and arachidonic acid on their tissues and are ready to be feasted by the health conscious humans.
Eating an inexpensive tilapia according to their studies will result to a smaller coronary artery, which is the major risk factor of a heart attack.
Would you still want to eat a tilapia?

I have read this article last week and was interested with the idea of a prosthetic eye for a horse. The miniature horse named Kbuck was born June 1st this year at Lil Chums Miniature Horse Farm in Lawton. Kbuck lost his eye a few days after birth. Owner Kelsey Chumbley, 12 years old suspects that KBuck's mother swift kicking was the cause of the young horse eye problem.
Veterinarian Jeff Hammond of Marlow did the surgery for KBuck last June but it was unsuccessful. He then suggested a comestic remedy which is a prosthetic eye. The prosthetic eye which cost $3,000 was made of hard acrylic plastic and was molded of KBuck's hollow eye socket. It was then handcrafted by designers at La Fuente Ocular Prosthetics in Oklahoma City. The prosthetic eye looked real with a complete deep blue features and tiny red veins.
KBuck by the way is a show horse and now ready to take part of competitions. Isn't he cute?
Here are more of his pictures with the prosthetic eye.

Three more days and I'll turn 27. I couldn't believe it, time flies and I'll soon turn 30. I'm ageing and I must admit that I am seeing the changes. I still feel young though. How I wish I was still on my teens.
Anyway the past few days, my fellow housemates celebrated their birthday. I enjoyed the food but the noise that they made till the wee hours was horrible. Just last night, my other housemates celebrated their birthday in advance. They invited their friends and had a small gathering. I buried myself inside my room the whole day so I wouldn't feel bad about my birthday. I'm not having a birthday celebration this year by the way since I don't have the budget.
It just feel sad that I won't be with my loved ones on my birthday. How can I escape my birthday without anyone noticing it?

The pop star Britney Spears is on top! With her Womanizer song on top of the Billboard's chart and its oozing music video. Aside from Womanizer, her new website is now online britneyspears.com. She even have a video blog with a message to her fans. There are even nice photos that I have seen from her web site.
Anyway for the Britney Spears fans, here is her video message.
Did you know that she broke Mariah Carey's download sales for "Touch My Body" for only 200 units? Congratulations again to Britney Spears.

Here is the album cover of the latest American Idol winner David Cook. His self-titled album will be available on record bars this November 18, 2008. His current single "Light On" was recently released on radio and wasn't picking any good raves. On the other hand, David Archuleta's single Crush has the better first single. The battle is still on for both American Idol David's.
David Cook's single debuted on Billboard at #15 and I cannot see his song at the top 50. David Archuleta's single on the other hand debuted at #2 and at #22 this week. Now, who should be the American Idol winner?
Here are the tracks from David Cook's album:
1. Declaration
2. Heroes
3. Light On
4. Come Back to Me
5. Life on the Moon
6. Bar-ba-sol
7. Mr. Sensitive
8. Lie
9. I Did It for You
10. Avalanche
11. Permanent
12. A Daily Anthem

Yesterday night after I had my dinner, I was surprised to read a text message from my employment agent. The gist of the message says that there would be a contract staff review meeting on October 21 and she is asking me if I can come. The first thing that came to my mind is that they will be discussing the recession issue to us. That frightened me a lot.
I confirmed my attendance to her and asked her what the meeting is all about. I told her that I am scared of her text message as well. She replied that I don’t have to worry since it is only a review meeting and a gathering of contract staffs under them. I was so relieved to hear that from her. I’m really scared of losing my job especially with the current financial crisis around the world.
She even reminded me that my current employer has good comments on me and if I strive hard there is a high possibility that my contract will be extended. I hope this recession will not have a high effect in Singapore and Manila.
Are you as paranoid as I am with this recession issue?

Here is the second batch of my pictures in Sentosa, Singapore. I would love to visit Sentosa again this year. Calling the Singapore Tourism Board, I would appreciate it if you would give me free tickets and hotel accommodations. Hehehe.
More Sentosa Singapore pictures to come.
