Singapore Swimming Experience

After posting some pictures from my swimming last Saturday, here now is the story behind that. After lunch, I went to prepare my things and also had taken a bath. I was wearing my white shirts and loose walking shorts. I even have on my bag a pack of Hello Panda (was shocked from an officemate to know that it has Melamine before, is that true?), one Sky Flakes biscuit and a small water jug. Of course in my bag I also brought my my bath towel, swimming trunks, goggles, shampoo and a bottle of body wash.

CCK ParkBefore going to the Choa Chua Kang Swimming pool, I first checked its location. There's a bus 307 going there but my friend in the Philippines told me that walking is the best way to warm up. I don't have to do stretching if I walk a long distance. Speaking of walking, at the CCK MRT, I asked a few people just to make sure that I'm on the right direction. It was a long walk, I'm not sure though how on many kilometers I walked. I'm glad though that I walked, I saw the CCK Park and even some nice sceneries.

Choa Chu Kang Swimming pool vendo ticket machineAt the entrance of the Choa Chu Kang Stadium, I asked the help of a Singaporean. He was nice though to show me the direction. At the entrance of the pool, I looked around and observed on where I can pay the entrance. I saw a group of people and was in queue for the ticket at the vending machine. As I have mentioned, the entrance is $2 during weekends and $1.50 during weekdays.

When I got in, I went to check out the place. I was mesmerized with the spa pool and was dipping myself in there for a long time. And oh, I have this horrible experience with the 20 cents locker. After changing to my swimming trunks, I tried the first locker and inserted a 20 cents coin. Placed all my things and suddenly I cannot get the key out. I tried the other locker and got all my things in. I successfully got the key out but I suddenly remembered that my goggles was still in my bag. I did not know that everytime you open the locker, you need to insert a 20 cents coin. I have shelved 60 cents just for this locker. What the!

It's still 20 cents for the locker? I am surprise that the price didn't go up. I spent a lot of time swimming when I was in my University day; I would swim almost every other day and each time I would complete at least 40 laps. I just love swimming back then. But not doing too much of that these days. Hope you are enjoying your stay in Singapore. :)

I think swimming is a very important skill like driving and first aid. I hope to learn all these before 25.=)
